Relationship Counselling

Relationships are complicated, beautiful, difficult, bewildering, irritating, loving, baffling, supportive and all consuming.

In the intricate dance of your relationship, it is easy to miss a step. Challenges come when you are least expecting, and sometimes it is difficult for you both to find a way through.

Miscommunication, evolving goals, external pressures, money worries, resentment, negative narratives, different dreams can disrupt the harmony between you.

My approach is to explore the complexities of your relationship in a supportive environment, working together to create a deeper connection.

Our work will be to focus on effective communication and mutual understanding.

Relationships come in many forms, husband and wife, mother and son/daughter, father and son/daughter, in-laws, stepchildren, parents, siblings, lovers, friends, life partner, coparents.

Our early expectations of our relationship can be a stark difference as to how they are now.

After time we change a little and move into different directions and phases. Sometimes our relationships do not seem to grow with us.

Life's unexpected twists and turns can also affect how we perceive and interact within our relationships.

Differences in desires, goals, views on children, work-life balance, trust issues, dependency, addiction, neglect, and intimacy can strain a relationship. Feeling lonely, unappreciated, or disconnected complicates matters. We navigate challenges together, including decisions on separation and co-parenting.

Even in unhealthy dynamics, couples can rebuild and grow stronger in love.

Therapy is about change. For you to be prepared to change and notice through your change there may be a shift in the dynamic of your relationship and perhaps a change in the other.

In the many years of me working with couples, I have found that forgiveness and kindness are essential for feeling heard and understood.
